A badge is a superlative: a hand-named award, backed by a query, held by whichever fantasy supergroup currently tops it. The names are intended to be humorous. The rarity of badges is dynamic. This page is the translation.

How rarity works
Rarity describes the badge, not the achievement. It is the live holder count and nothing else, so it recomputes every night: tie the sole holder of a badge and you are both Legendary by morning. A badge held by a hundred supergroups is a common badge, and its color says so.

Exotic is not the top of the ladder. It is off it. The six colors above mean a query counted the holders. Cyan means a person made a decision.
The rules
The floor
Most badges need 10 of what they count. Clever Girl wants 10 clever reactions, not 10 upwishes, because a badge for the admired-but-not-beloved must not be gated behind being beloved. The exception is the review badges: they score on the publication’s rating, so a supergroup nobody has touched can still be the best reviewed one.
Complete lineups only
Badges built on a lineup’s ages or deaths need the whole lineup’s data. One member missing a birth year makes the supergroup ineligible, not averaged over the members we happen to know. Otherwise the badge would measure the gaps in our data.
Ties are allowed
Two supergroups at the top both hold the badge. That is not a bug, and the rarity color tells the truth about how shared it is.
Losing a badge
Lose a badge and it leaves. Past reigns survive as a footnote on the supergroup’s page.
Exotic is granted, not earned
Exotic badges are handed out by a person who looked at a supergroup and decided it deserved something a query could never find. They cannot be earned by grinding.
